Austria’s first thermal water bathing lakes in the Alpentherme Gastein

Unique, real and pure! These are the new thermal water bathing lakes. From July 2017 they will be offering a spa experience in the Alpentherme Gastein that has never been seen before.

A bath in the two lakes makes it FEEL: the power of nature, the purity of the water and the pure energy that the body fills up with. They are unique and genuine – because they are filled with real Gastein thermal water. The two lakes with 1300 and 370 m² of water surface are filled with the treasure from the Hohe Tauern. 150 m³ of fresh thermal water gush into the lakes every day.

Unique and pure because they are cleaned without the addition of chemical substances such as chlorine. The water is cleaned by a biological filter system. Anyone struggling with skin problems or allergies can enjoy a carefree swim in the lake here.

The environment is also unique – in the middle of the Gasteinertal, including a view of the summit, the outdoor bathing season in the temperature-stable lakes will in future extend from the beginning of May to the end of October. A clear advantage should the weather not play along: if rain and cool temperatures suddenly put an end to outdoor bathing fun, you can make yourself comfortable in the pleasantly warm indoor area with thermal pools and sauna until the sun lures you outside again.

recovery through activity

Recreation through activity is on the program in and around the large thermal water bathing lake in the Relax World. The generous water surface has enough space for movement in the water. Extensive swimming is possible on the 50 meter long lanes. Shallow water areas are for those who don’t want to go so far out to relax in the lake. What was previously only possible on natural lakes can now be experienced in a thermal bath. At special times, guests can try stand up paddling, for example. Sunbathing areas around the lake invite you to relax. Fancy yoga? The power of nature and water is combined with vitalizing exercises in yoga sessions right next to the lake.

A retreat for those seeking tranquility

The Sauna World at the Alpentherme Gastein has always been a refuge for rest and deep relaxation. With the small thermal water bathing lake, the offer here is enriched by a facet. Between the stimulating sauna sessions you dive into the pure thermal water. A new sauna with a view of the lake and the Gastein mountains turns the sauna session into a nature experience. If a break is called for after the infusion, you can go to one of the exclusive loungers on the sunny lawn for a nap in between.

Water fun for children and families

Right nearby but still a world of its own is Family World. Families and children who are looking for anything but stillness get their money’s worth here – namely fun and hustle and bustle in the water. There is also a new attraction for them in addition to the family indoor and outdoor pools. Outside there is a 4-lane wave slide with a length of around 30 metres. On hot summer days, big and small water lovers refresh themselves with a ride over the waves. How about a slide race with the whole family? With this water fun, small and large children’s hearts beat faster.
